Congratulations on our Two New Private Pilots License Scholarships Winners!!!

We had such a great response with our scholarship. We had 10 applications that we great and was so hard to differentiate between everyone, so we decided to award Two Scholarships this year. Thank you everyone for you applied, we appreciate your time and effort put into the process, just remember that you can apply next year and with the response we had this year we will be adding more scholarships next year.  Good luck in your dream of flight!!!

Our first recipient is Dakota Jonasen:

I am Dakota Jonasen, and I am currently a sophomore at Oklahoma State University, majoring in Aviation Management with the dream of flying for the airlines. I am a member of Pikes Peak 99’s and WAI as well. I started my PPL at Springs Aviation in Colorado Springs and am now finishing it at Bucks Flight Academy in Oklahoma. With the big help of this scholarship money, flight instructors, and my family and friends as my biggest support system, I hope to have my private license by May!

Our Second Recipient is Zachary Lemanski:

My name is Zachary Lemanski, and I’ve wanted to be a pilot ever since I was little. My parents would take my brother and I to local air shows and fly-ins whenever there was one nearby, so I was often surrounded by planes. On occasions that we traveled, I’d barter whatever I could to sit in the window seat. I received my first true exposure to flying through the Civil Air Patrol’s free orientation flights for cadets, and I owe much of my early interest in an aviation career to them; flying for the major airlines has since been my ultimate goal. Having since graduated from high school and begun flight training out of Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport, I am currently attending MSU Denver full-time and pursuing a degree in Aviation and Aerospace Science!

I extend my heartfelt thanks to the Zachary Capra Foundation for helping me, and so many others, achieve their goals, and to everyone else who has been there for me along the way. There’s nothing in the world quite like being airborne, and I’m so incredibly lucky to be pursuing flight as part of my career. Thanks to everyone for helping bring my dreams within reach!

I’m currently flying with Western Air Flight Academy out of Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport (KBJC), and I’ve attached a few photos below for use on the website. My sincerest thanks to everyone with the Zachary Capra Foundation, and please don’t hesitate to reach out if there’s anything else you need from me!
