To all the great golfers and Sponsors that continue to support Tailwinds of Hope. The Fifth Annual Captain Caps Golf Tournament was a great success. Again, we had 216 golfers and 25 Sponsors that made this day so special. With the incredible turnout we will raise over $32,000 and so many more memories were made. With this amount of money, we have met our annual output for the scholarships that we provide to students. There will plenty of pictures to post when they are finished, to show what an incredible day everyone had. We should have a new scholarship recipient for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University soon.

Tailwinds of Hope – Zachary Michael Capra Foundation was started to honor our son Zachary Michael Capra. One of the primary scholarships established was to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in the amount of $15,000. Our goal since the beginning was to endow the scholarship, something that we thought would take several years to accomplish. It was important to us that this scholarship would be available forever to continue to honor Zachary’s legacy and love of flying. We are so overwhelmed with emotions, in a short four years since starting the foundation we have met our goal to endow this scholarship. In December Tailwinds of Hope donated $45,000 to ERAU for the Zachary Capra Endowed Memorial Aviation Scholarship. We also donated another $15,000 to keep the current scholarship for one more year before the endowed scholarship begins.
We have an incredible donor base and so many families and friends that have enabled us to raise an incredible amount of funds. This shows what an incredible impression Zachary has made on all of us. Zachary touched so many lives in his short but impactful life. We all have stories that exemplify Zachary’s love, zest, and drive to live that life and continues to drive us to continue our mission to give back to the community. We are honored and humbled and filled with gratitude with the generous donations that have made this all possible.
